I know that musket and minie balls pretty much all look the same but I thought I would post them just as well. Found these the day after my last hunt where the lead seal was found. Thanks for looking.
Sorry, I misread your thread title, thought you were talking about leads - as in treasure leads - not lead as in bullets. And since I know you're in eastern Canada, I thought I didn't need to read about treasure leads in Canada since I live 4,000 miles away. Understand?? Anyhow, nice lead!
Seeing these artifacts must make it easier for younger folks to understand the history behind words - the etymology. For example, when someone talks about Minie balls, they are talking about ammunition developed by a man named Minie. Also, musket balls are round - hence the term "rounds" when speaking of ammunition. I tell ya, it's all very fascinating what we do - in so many fields of interest.
