wasnt looking for it but I will take it. I had to moved about 7 ft of sand and had about 2 ft left and found this in it when I started fanning my ledge. clean ,whole and about 1840-1870`s.
Its not black glass I havent found a brown one before

Nice find! As Jim suggested, the bottle is likely to be an English ale bottle from about 1870, I think.

In 1870, much of Florida was still wilderness. Rivers were the avenues of commerce.

those north Fl rivers could handle traffic our rivers around the Tampa area were too narrow, more like creeks. Thats why I like to dive the N Fl rivers. There have been alot of bottles found in the Suwannee
