Hi all,
Yeah I know, I said I was done for the year because the snow came and it got cold..we got 7 inches exactly one week ago, but now it's all gone! The temps made it into the 50's both yesterday and today, so I just had to get back out there.
I headed out to one school yesterday and a couple today..I had previously been to all of them, but I hadn't checked certain areas thoroughly.
Yesterday as I was searching the playground at the first school about 10-20 feet from the blacktop, I got a signal that read like a dime, but the signal was sporadic..I ended up digging a small gold object that looked like a little lock, and to my amazement there was an entire chain attached to it! The "lock" was actually a small charm resembling a handbag. The chain had more charms attached to it, but it was so wrapped up in grass roots I had a hard time freeing it from the ground..eventually it came loose and I found the chain and all 5 charms had 925 stamped on them. Each charm has tiny little stones. It was still clasped. The entire bracelet appears to be gold over silver and is absolutely beautiful.
Then today I went out around 8 a.m. to the other 2 schools and within 30 minutes, also near the blacktop I found a gold initial ring (#68 this year!)
I also found ring #69 in the mud near the wood chips, but it was costume. I searched in vain to find #70, but it wasn't meant to be. I definately can't complain.
To top it all off, I found 259 coins since yesterday afternoon ($16.78) which brought my yearly total to 9,364 coins ($674.63).
I'm still not sure if this was my last hunt, but as long as the weather is like it was the past couple of days there's nothing else I'd rather be doing.
Merry Christmas to all,
Nat
