The soldiers were here! CW finds.

[zaxfire69]

Hello everyone. Well went out digging and boy was I surprised! I have been hunting a site that until today really was hard to date. Although I have dug over 100 3 ringers out of the site I was unsure that it was of the Civil War era. Well now I am fairly sure that the site is of the CW era. I found a general service eagle button!! Also found some more lead. I am on cloud nine right now. I could not believe it when the button came out of the ground. I am super stoked. The soldiers were here! Thanks for looking everyone. Zaxfire69

Good JOB

Any time you find 3 ringers C/W soldiers were there, you might have come ac`ross an old target range, drill field, campsite or mustering area before the lads went off to the front.

Don't forget to look inside the base of those three ringers, you might find a "star" or some other marking that tells what armory cast the bullet.

I do FloodCitykid. Most I am finding are just a conical cavity. I have found several pulled bullets from this little area. I'm thinking it was a small camp.

Pulled bullets are indiciative of picket posts or picket camps, you can find a lot of cool stuff in picket camps or posts, carved bullets for example, keep lookin' hope ya get some carved ones!!!!

I have found carved bullets in here as well. This is a small area..maybe 50'x50' ..Very small. Almost like the bullets and finds are around a central point like a fire. I have found bottles, bricks and iron in the middle of the area.
