Went back to my turn of the 1900's picnic site this afternoon and wow it is not letting up! More Hutchison type bottle tops and stoppers, two gold plated rings one says 14K. Some old lead, four silver plated items I have no idea what they were used for. 8 Ih's, 4 V nickels and 3 barber dimes 1895, 1897 and 1901. Also some pin of some type with a turquoise stone. It is possible gold, I have it sitting in lemon juice at the moment. I does have some weight. Here are my pics and thanks for viewing! Thanks for the address I'm on my way there now

LOL! I can be such a jokester at times. It should be a good time, and thanks for all the positive feedback everyone.

The one item in your second to last picture. Appears to be hinge to an old wooden ruler.

Yeah that's what someone else was saying. I agree that's what it is due to the fact it has a number scale etched into it. Also has some bits of wood left at the ends. Thanks for the second opinion and welcome to Tnet.

Great stuff I once had a old picnic grounds that was loaded like that. A lot of fun hunting a site like that

Yeah sites like this are great! It is very strange though during the time period of all the coins and relics it was a dairy farm. The best I can figure is that the owner of the farm rented out or held large gatherings at this particular part of his property for a short time (5 or 10 years). ALL of the finds date to around 1900, other then some shotgun shell backings that might be more recent. No modern trash, No modern coins just items from around 1900 when the area was used for the short time. I will be sure and create recap post on all the finds from the 6 trips I made out to this site. Something like 70 coins and lots of neat relics. Any other finds will have to wait till next seeing as yesterday was my last trip to this site for 2014.
