Stay safe Deb and Merry Christmas......Tommy

Yes it is bad, we are in a motor home on way to Kitty Hawk NC. High winds, heavy rain and severe thunderstorms, we are currently about 50 miles north of Brunswick Ga on I95..

Here, on the coast of SC, it's 69 degrees, but it will be 33 in the morning. That kind of drop is going to come with some rough weather!

21°F is forcast low for our destination.

The sump pumps are running overtime. If the power goes off I have two battery backup pumps ready to go. Except the one in the well house outside isn't automatic, so...I won't be going outside.

The storm front passed us here in NW Florida around 2:30 this afternoon. We got a great Christmas Eve sunset out of it.
Merry Christmas to all!

smokeythecat,,hi it’s time to bolt down the hatches,we are also getting up to 60 mph wind gust also and probably 2 inch of rain,,on the other hand perhaps the cougar will quickly leave for safer pastures,,Wishing you good health, wealth and happiness during the holiday season and beyond

The creek flooded pretty badly, but probably just stirred some small gold up. I haven't checked the local bridges out yet this am. Power never went off so I didn't have to babysit the sump pumps! Looks like all the trees are still here.

I have a hard fast rule. If you live in Florida NEVER travel north in the winter. Supposed to get in low 40's here tonight! Brrr!

It was a balmy 18 degrees here the other night. 57 yesterday during the storm. Back to 35 now.

pretty much the same here in pa

Projected high today of 28 and low of 15 tonight. Sitting at my desk with my coat on - and we do have heat, but it's downstairs....

Whatever..... Just gotta love living in an old house! Makes a man tougher (wa wa wa).......

Edit:

Good gracious, Mom is up with the TV on and I just went downstairs for a cup of coffee. The ground is white and the temperature is 15 out there right now. It's going to be an inside day today.

Movies on Youtube :)

Merry Christmas from sunny New Mexico where it is currently 19*F in the open desert and we will enjoy an afternoon around 48*F. The heat pump is running full blast!

I think I'll go get some of that black sand the creek belched over its banks and see if there is any flour gold in it. After I finish waking up. Cats had canned food for breakfast this am - and every morning. I found some dug stuff I forgot I had! It was right where it was supposed to be. Bought another this time automatic bilge pump for the well house from Amazon this am. I just have to put a hole in the block for it. No biggie.

little piles of snow left in the distance.
looks like where the plow pushed it

We had winds gusts of 60 last night.

It's just cold and breezey here now. All but the one pile of snow I pushed off the deck is gone. The GRASS HAS TURNED GREEN OVERNIGHT due to 57 degree temps yesterday and all that rain. Dumb grass.

It takes a great strength of will to live in the cold like that. I’ve done it several times. Best of luck on this Christmas Day.
