I went out for an hour with the dog in the fields and managed two coins, some lead and a lot of driving band fragments, casings and other crap.
When i cleaned off the finds at home one piece of aluminum was a cap eagle! What a surprise! :headbang: I straightened it a little and it came out nice. The coin is a 10 Reichspfennig from 1924. The only ones you get always in good shape, exept silver coins. The fertilizer is so bad on coins...

Looks like a good day, just curious, are Nazi relics and artifacts considered collectable and valuable?

Many are, there is a huge collector market, you have to be careful though, there are a lot of reproductions and outright fakes out there.

Good finds. I am sure there is a lot of history going way back in your area.
Good luck in your hunts !

Great finds, congrats! I will be in Germany in June.

Re: This Eagle has seen better days...

Thanks all! My first one. Its a kind of rare find because all this emblems had to removed after war and most were destroyed. The other ones were taken home as souvenirs to the states! :tongue3:

Re: This Eagle has seen better days...

Great bunch of finds......coins and historical artifacts, too.
Where are you located in Germany? Are you German, or an American GI, or ???
I was stationed in Baumholder in the 60's.....spent much of my time in Idar-Oberstein. A great, beautiful small city.
I was not into THing at that time. Wish I had of been. The barracks at Baumholder....old cut stone things...colder
then any building had a right to be. But, I can only think of the parade fields/ball fields/country around there.....what
it would have produced. (sigh)
Good hunting. I will be looking forward to some great posts from you.
