Cool find....what is it? :dontknow:

A beauty! Two reales? I see it was minted in Mexico. It's less worn than the few I have found. They were used for silver coins around the British North American colonies because of a coin shortage, but I have found only a very few among lots of coppers from the same era.

Congratulations on the 2R.
Certainly would put a smile on anyone digging dirt.

Cool find....what is it? :dontknow:
It's a 1789 silver Carlos III Spanish half Reale from the Mexico City mint. It's 1/16 of a Piece of 8, enough money to buy a flagon of rum back in its time.

Still a NICE FIND :)P

Great find! Amazing how small they are isn't it? Congrats.

That will be a memorable Tuesday ! Congrats on a great coin.
