Most times he was not trying to go through target. Secret is your trained that the target is about 6 inches behind where your striking not where your hitting....

I broke a lot of boards during rank testings and demos....

Nothing special about the boards.
He was only trying to break single boards too, ours were a min of 2 or more held back to back. Technique is the secret..
