I'm at the baseball field this morning, getting it prepared for practice tonight, and the kids are at the playground. They brought their bikes and a basketball for when the playground equipment got boring. I check on them occasionally; there is a creek that runs between the field and the playground, though now it's barely a trickle for lack of rain. The kids have been known to get filty playing here, and Mom isn't a fan, so I try to keep them out. I was doing that at one point, and yelled for the kids; Junior halfdime answered and appeared, Miss halfdime just answered. Assuming that she was in the creek, I ordered her to show herself; "I'm under here!" "Here" is a rather large gazebo, with enough crawl space underneath for a small child. Quickly, I ordered her out and was met with,"But I'm finding lots of money!" Figures! Well, who in his right mind can put a stop to that? I looked under myself, to make sure it was safe, then let her continue. When finally I was finished with the field, she had gathered $1.80 in clad from beneath the gazebo! How can you discourage that kind of imagination, that vision?
