This sort of thing makes it very hard to put your finger on "madness".

Thought-provoking statement plehbah. They are discovering many things concerning how we process visual cues.

I love illusions, trust none of what you hear, half of what you see. I just kept watching the spinning ball, what a weird feeling.

Beep, so even though the man's brain thought it couldn't see, it really still could? Just couldn't get the info to the right processing center?

My favorite is of course the full moon illusion. I like to watch it come up. and think how many millions of people are being fooled right at that second with me. And you know you are being fooled, but you can't stop it, or reason it away.

Beep, so even though the man's brain thought it couldn't see, it really still could? Just couldn't get the info to the right processing center?

I guess there is another path in our brain that continues to work even if our visual cortex where we process images is no longer working. This path was probably a leftover from a previous evolutionary stage. It would be wierd..."I can't see a thing, but I can negotiate a maze". It shows that there are a lot of processes going on in our brains that we don't conciously control, or are even aware of.
