Hello everyone,

I decided this morning to head out to the spot that I did pretty well at last time, in my hometown. There were 3 ballfields, and I just barely covered one of them. I decided to hit the other 2 with a vengeance. I had 5 or so hours to kill, and I was not disappointed.

About 20 minutes into my search, I pulled up a silver coin, another war nickel! This one was a bit worn, but the "P" was the first thing I saw, it was a 1945. A good start, I think.

It was another "clad" kind of day, after that, like I kind of expected, but I did pick up a few different items. I finally found my first watch! It was a gold-tone ladies wrist watch (not gold) plus another toy car, and 2 locks, a larger brass lock, and a small cheapie lock. I also found what looks like a door or cabinet hinge. Then I found something I cant really say what it is. It looks like a brass lipstick container, or a weird shotgun casing. There is an emblem on one of the ends, kind of like a crest. If ANYONE knows what this might be, please let me know, it is driving me crazy! ???

All in all, not a bad day. I ended up with another noobie Big Haul, my offical total, minus the wartime nickel was $11.07, the clad totals are as follows:
(25) Quarters
(38) Dimes
(5) Nickels
(77) Pennies

Thanks for checking out my day! If you have any idea what the item with the emblem on it may be, please let me know. Thanks everyone.

My thought as well but the end pictures are not very clear & looks like the design is raised which would make it a punch

True.
If its a solid chunk of metal its a punch. Otherwise, probably a wax seal stamp, Id say.

Nice bag! I love the punch!

Thanks for all the comments. For the record, the item has a raised symbol, but not sure if it is solid, because one of the sides appears to be dented, signifying, to me at least, that it is hollow. Hope that helps!

Take it to an anitquer. Then you will know.

good hunt with cool stuff!

The brass thing is a valve stem cover of an old truck. It should be threaded on the inside.

Hello, The hinge piece you found is from an old icebox I believe. I have found the same ones and some other parts :icon_thumright: The Brass tube, I have two of them, I also think they are a type of lipstick :icon_scratch: I just found my second one last week in an old dumpsite. I can't get them apart to be sure, but they have the same octagonal shape and embossed emblem on top. I hope this helps and cool finds :icon_sunny: Paul :coffee2:

Dang, $11+ makes it a good day in my mind. The silver nickel makes it a great day!! :hello2: I have no idea on the other stuff, but it looks like some of it has a little age to it. I think I would go back for more!! :icon_thumleft:

Wow--you really cleaned up. Great finds!

All the best,

Lanny
