Ya know MM, when you mentioned the surplus of old shoes laying around, it set off a wee light bulb.

So I started flashing back in my mind to more than a few buildings I've been through in my time.

Man, all those shoes I've seen and stepped around and over and maybe even kicked aside, lookin for treasure but not seein' it, when it's perhaps so close within my grasp. Anyone of those old shoes just could have held at least a folded, if not a little stained or otherwise colored perhaps, but well preserved fiver or a ten spot even, for taxi fare say, some starless night, for miLady of the house

Nobody that I have ever heard of told me anything about such an off the wall, make sense if you will, TH'ing idea. 8) Big Thanx 2 ya myman...

You can bet I won't be passin' up the next pair of shoes I come across in my travels.

Oh dude, just wanna mention that our man TreasureTails, is the generous and well respected poster by the way, of the chicken coop tips you mentioned. And did ya, pickup on his mention too of the old tin water cans that you just may find laying around there as well?

I had a dealer approach me at one of my flea market set-ups a few years back. It was still early before the crowd had started and he had his eyes on it since I set it there on the blacktop near my car. I wasn't even going to bring it because it had a number of dents, two or three bullet holes and a couple or three little early rust spots. But, the bail was mint and the inside and outside of this old tin pail/can was if fine shape. I found it tucked under a white cedar when I was coming out of the bush one day after a day's grouse huntin'. I still hadn't figured out what kind of price I was going to put on it, sometimes I want the customer to tell me what he wants to pay. Gives me a little to go on to try and figure him or her out to some degree by their opening words and or numbers. Anyway, he comes over looks right at me , points to the neat ol' pail and says, I can't go any higher than $20 because I know a man who will pay me $25 for it and it does have a little hole in it, doesn't it?

So without even flinchin' or missin' a beat, I said, Sold , to the man with a yen for a fine piece of Canadian history, and deftly slid the olive bill from his outstretched hand. I might have thought to ask for $5 and let some nice 'ol person perhaps talk me down to $3 or whatevr. Like, I found this old can and almost didn't keep it. TT's advice is very sound! Do Not overlook anything. I can almost smell some of that musty old money that surely must be in and or around there somewhere...

Speaking of which, that unreachable attic you mentioned has got the hair on my arms standing up over here.

What secrets is that all about?
Here's a little pic of Carson's book I took for ya, to whet your appetite. You WILL love it my friend.
