I don't know. I would call the police and preferably NOT have it in my house! Let them deal with it. That size, I'd call it more a homemade firecracker than a pipe bomb, but...

Are they typically 3 in and made with ceramic that's what confuses me are they going to stuff it wit BBs

Don't know, but remember the old adage "Better safe than sorry", besides I'm sort of attached to my ugly mug and 10 digits. Let's see.........call them and It turns out to be harmless, or blow it off and it goes boom! What is the lesser of the two evils? Whatever it is, it looks homemade, but for what purpose is the issue at hand.

Back about a hundred years ago, when I was a kid, we would fill Co2 capsules with paper match heads, then tape the Co2 capsule to a straightened piece of coat hanger wire and ad a fuse. They made great bottle rockets but sometimes exploded instead when lit. I had a friend have one explode and sent shrapnel through his kneecap. Better safe than sorry. Call the cops!

When I was about 10 I blew up a cow pie with an M-80 firecracker. They were legal back then, and are now legal again. Thing smoked! It was fun. Yours, however, not to be messed with.

Bates, did you find it or make it?

I'm a "light it and throw it" kind of guy. Light it and run like hell works too. ;o)

Homemade Firecracker... aka Pipe Bomb :laughing7:

one I found In a Lake, I Tore apart in my sink.

Don't do as I do though :unhappysmiley:

in retrospect I Should have Called the police for Brownie Points & a Laugh
when they Evacuated & Blocked off the whole County over it :tongue3:, done the Tearing apart Under water, Or just Buried it where it would never be Found again.

But not My Style.

COOL FIND

Don't light it unless you can do it from Behind a Wall with a 10' Stick.
Could have a 1/10 Second Fuse that's still viable.(that would be a Bugger :laughing7:

It's not a pipe bomb if the main housing is ceramic lol.the caps do not look like they are threaded(into ceramics,I doubt it)Looks like they're epoxied on.if the string is green it's cannon fuse.water proof.
