This was a hunt I'll never forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We finally had some soaking rains here,,,, 6-1/2" of soaking [banghead],,,, Been too dry to tect yards and my back and hip have been killing me,,,, so Ive been doing some research on some old places,,, Got permission to hunt 3 new ones [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
The one I hunted today is a 1870- 1880 farm house,,, I wanted this yard bad!!!!! It just always looked like silver had to be there,,,, Man, was I right about that!!! Anyway ,, the last couple of days my back pain has been better, so I gave it a try. I was cherry picking ,first off,,,,,found an 1888 Indian right away, a few wheats here and there,,, Then I came to a low spot in the yard,, looked like a huge tree had set there... Got a penny hit and dug 2 wheats,,, one was a 1909 with VDB on the back!!! [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]Too bad it wasn't an S mintmark,,,, But I'll take it!! Continued around the stump,,,dug a nice 1911 V nickel [thumbsup],, 1891 Indian,,,found a Barber dime,,,, then another then another then one more !!! My hip and back did not hurt anymore!! [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]... Started gridding out the front yard then,,,,, all told, I found 3 silver Rosies,,, 1947,,, and 2--64s,,, 1923 Merc,, [laugh] [laugh],1901,, 1902,,1907,,1913 Barber dimes,,,, 1911 V nickel,,,1888,, 1891,, 1907 Indians ,, 11 wheats including the 1909 VDB,,, my first silver thimble cool little Xmas bell and other various stuff... 8 silver coins in one hunt is a new personal best for me,,,,,, I didn't want to quit,, but my hip was hurting bad after 4 hours,,,, I think I'll go back soon This is great therapy for an ailing body!!!!! thanks for looking everyone!!!!
