Hi folks,

Just finished a hunt today. I found a beautiful quartzite peice, maybe brewerton, not sure. One ear missing. An argillite peice, possible lamoka, and a wading river quartz. Today I also happened upon a geo fact net weight, but I do think it was used as a netweight. Very similar to the net weight I uploaded recently. I will upload the similar one. They were found pretty close to one another.

The previous hunt a couple days ago yielded some nice quartz once again.

Here are some photos. Any unfo on ths quartzite one is appreciated.

Chris

Today I also happened upon a geo fact net weight, but I do think it was used as a netweight. Very similar to the net weight I uploaded recently.

So found out of context and no visible signs of human alteration, why do you think it's a net weight?

Your other finds are very good. Not trying to take away from those by any means.

I said geofact, but believe it was used as a netweight. Look at the net weight here. Same area. It's almost I identical. However this one was worked.

It's just a huge coincidence if not.

I think the quartzite cornernotch is more likely to be a Vosberg than Brewerton FWIW.

You find more nice stuff in a week than I used to in a year. :)

I’ve got something very similar to what your calling a net weight. Don’t know what they are, I think mine might be a clay handle or knob, could be a weight though I guess. That is very similar.
It may not be a netweight. I do get the impression rope or line was tide to it. Maybe go hold down corners of fur to dry or canopy. I do get the feel it was tied to line and used as a weight. Mine are not clay. The green ine I get, maybe look alike. The rock one ground and pecked.

Yours does look similar. Mine were found in a field very close to one another. This field does hold a campsite.

I spend a little to much time looking around. If I spent that doing overtime I'd be doing very well. Trade offs. I enjoy my time put there.
