This Weeks Boxes 12-23-11

Was hoping Santa would deliver some real goodies this week, but it didn't happen. In fact, this was probably one of my weakest silver weeks for halves. Here's the breakdown:

Box 1: (1) 1968, (1) 1969
Box 2: skunk
Box 3: skunk
Box 4: (1) 1967, (1) 1968

The two skunk boxes were obviously someones dumps as they contained a ton of marked coins, all the same mark, which I hadn't seen before. I don't mind a few marked coins here and there, but a couple hundred out of two boxes just pisses me off. Like most here, I'm not in this hobby for the money, but mostly for the thrill of the hunt. Knowing that your just sifting through others dumps takes that fun away.

Ok, now that I've had my rant, I hope everybody has a very merry Christmas!

You can go ahead and send me your finds and I will gladly pay you twice face value for them. I am in it for the money ( future retirement fund ) so, you can hunt more and I can get closer to my goals of 4160 oz of silver by 2035

I hate marked coins myself, but its all part of the game. Although I did a box today and got 2 / 40s that were marked with and x. HH and Happy new year.

I didn't do too much better myself with my 4 half boxes this week. I got 3 skunks and 1 box had (2) 90%'s & (3) 40%'s.

I also found 2 silver Rosie's in a dime box last night.

A little is still better than nothing

And I have 3 dime boxes & 1 nickel box & 1 cent box for the weekend - so maybe I can find a little more

I don't mind a few marked coins here and there, but a couple hundred out of two boxes just pisses me off.

I brought this up a month or so ago and it seems the only reason people do it is to try to "psych out" the competition. All it does is make me hunt more. Good Luck!!
