Thoughts and prayers to the Mariposa downtown merchants

Apparently a signifigant fire in the historic downtown area of Mariposa has engulfed a full block of businesses. Started at the Pizza Factory and currently still burning. At least five businesses have been destroyed. Thank god that no injuries have been reported...

Thanks for letting us know. I just now read your link. It's sad when older, historic downtown areas burn. This happened to a block in my California town a few years ago. That fire started from faulty old wiring to a single light bulb left on in the basement of one of the businesses. I guess when owners upgrade the street level and upper stories to better wiring, sometimes they forget about the basement. Glad no one in Mariposa was hurt! Andi

My god what a mess!! Spent a good chunk of my life there and best pizza in town,big bummer as city fathers building moratorium has preserved the town and adjacent store was being renovated by at least a million last may when there...there goes more history down the drain and glad no deaths--thanx much for headsup-John
