How deep do you want to go? The Minelab Equinox 600/800 is another option if less than 10' deep. I have a CZ21 and it is a great machine but a bit heavy and it uses four 9v batteries.

The CZ-21 is not made for fresh water - it is locked in “salt mode”

There are a lot of people that use them in fresh water and they work fine but there is no advantage worth the extra money.

thanks guys, I did not know about the locked in salt mode thing. I did go back to site that I am buying from and it actually didn't say a thing about fresh water. So, I guess maybe I should be looking at a whites PI unit, I assume that could do both. I do live 30 min from the Pacific but the water is cold so I have never gone hunting there. I still can't believe Tesoro is out of business. I doubt I used my Tiger Shark even 10 times, and now that looks like $680 down the drain.
