Hi to All " Gone with the Gold " type of souls!
And everybody else and the Technically-enthused ones as well as those in between....as well as the Silver-minded Castle guards... and especially I say Hi to the Ghost believers and the Supernatural bright and Dark forces Believers and So on!

Sorry for the late introduction as I already made quite many comments back in May and June but my life has been.... outrageously Unique and difficult..
Like when I was a child in SE Europe and strangers would eventually return me home quite frozen or when i had fallen in a small diameter sewage hole and by chance the water was only up to about my chest, or when I would be riding my ( kind of Stolen but not quite ) 1957 Diamante German bicycle as a teenager and All of a sudden a bearded Middle-Age drunk man jumped out from nowhere in the Outskirts of town on a super dark street around 2 or 3 AM and came super close to me and repeated 3 or 4 times Aloud " Remember boy, when everything seems / becomes lost, Just remember find THE BLUE STONES " Remember, go to the Blue Stones.... , to the Blue Stones! "

And ironically here in NE Illinois there are quite many mineralized Bluish and Greenish as well as reddish and yellow'-brownish stones, although the Limestones, dolomites and others dull looking are the predominant ones.

In short, I have been swinging the Pendulum for several years now and have been taking detailed notes, focusing on Comparisons and Contrasting lenghts of swings for a given Spot ( Epicenter), making analogies, inferences by also reading Geology from various sources, science publications. It's what I started with more seriously after a few months of blindly communicating with my surroundings through my pendulum.

I sold my new Garret ACE 400 , 2 or 3 years ago as I needed money and also established that my Pendulum would 90 % of the cases confirm the exact Spot that the Detector registered as convincing sounds, display on the screen,etc.
So I have no regrets selling it.
The man in fact who came and bought it gave me 9 or 11 out of 14 $ 10 bills that were- as i realized the next hour - vintage and apparently he had collected them years ago just to wait till that fateful day to Make me the Recipient of these older bills!
I thought about that " Coincidence " many times afterwards.

So at first I Was scanning " the wrong" areas ( like ravines or old foundations of old concrete structures) where there was too much metallic garbage from previous decades but Hey, I think that's how in those wrong terrains I learned to distinguish the hardest and most deceptive signals.

I intend to further post some of my Pendulum triangulation research papers as I have published only very few , Aside from having sent 1 or 2 more in depth formulas to a member from this forum.

Thank you All and Also from my having read some of the Life- stories of Now old Treasure hunters' Real treasures found decades ago AND the circumstances that helped them ...or were mysteriously present at the time.
I am even more convinced in a Hypothesis I kind of formed in my mind that there are small/ mini caches buried in staggeringly many places such as 1 per at least Every 1.5 or 2 square Miles . Although I am a believer in even more " tightly " positioned ones over a geographical area. In rather some specific counties mostly and definitely where neighborhoods Haven't been built upon so far.

I lived there when there were farms, two lane roads, party line phones and RFD postal addresses, not condos and million dollar homes around golf courses. Life only moves in one direction; I can never go 'home'.

My address is at the edge of Cook and Du Page counties. But I often hop onto my bicycle and park it where cars wouldn't be able to... in other neighboring villages.
I know exactly what you feel has been lost! But trust me, there are a few thinner stripes of land that are frozen in time.
I found once 2 pieces of either very old phone copper twisted wire ( 2 copper Zinc wires plus the 3rd weaved around them was steel but copper coated ) total lenght 13 or 15 yards. Gave it for scrap. I should have kept them.
So either old phone or telegraph wire it was.
But yes, a lot of original landscape is obliterated

i need to ask here in the forum, Is this something like an older type of camping, tent gadget??
I am not from this country and the older guys might know??
This is from 1 spot that really made me tired because
1) 6 yards away from 3 moss-covered stones arranged in a diagonal to the old ridge
2) there I lifted up an iron very corroded and thinned out sheet of a spread out metal can like 5 Gallons it was maybe.
- underneath the sheet that was 12 by 14 inches roughly were 1 vintage Aluminium cap like 2 inch in diameter. And the plastic ( very fragile ) neck separated from it
1 of them just a little aside from the center of the sheet, the other The plastic neck just opposite the Alum. Cap no thread. On the other side of the Center of the sheet.
They looked totally symmetrically placed. Nothing else!!
They were laying flat onto another iron sheet, very corroded and with holes also.

3) the First sheet i had apply maybe 15 lbs strenght to lift it off the soil.
the sheet underneathI had to apply average strenght maybe 20 lbs or more to separate it from the soil!
I figured then, they have been laying flat there at least 30 years.

Then i could dig only 16 inches because the abandoned field above the ridge was hanging above the ridge and was making the ground easily flooded, very pure soil. No other metal things except this Trapeze looking object and 1 more Aluminium cap very oxidized , shallow height, no thread.
They were both only 1 or 2 inches deep.
Signal underneath IS strong but there are some deflections.... No glass, no other stuff any closer than 2 yards away.

The Trapeze is by design severed by a tiny gap right in the middle of the shorter side.
I measured it's thickness - between 5.4 and 5.5 mm.
So given the craters, it must have been exactly 6.35 mm when it was new = 1/ 4 inch.

Can anyone tell me what this must have been produced for?

When I try to bend / stretch it sideways, it Has incredible Tensile strenght!! It returns immediately to its STRAIGHT position
I have tried to apply to maybe up to 35 lbs.
I grinder it with a File- totally metallic white underneath!

I haven't tested it with a scanner yet to see how much Chromium it may have .
But general sources say if it is galvanized steel, inside less acidic soil, could take 70 to 100 years to lose 1 mm of it's thickness.
In more acidic soil, could still take 35 to 50 years fir that outcome....
But I have to yet see in case this Trapeze has say at least 2 or 3 % of chromium. Then it might really have been underground more than 60 years.

But if it is just Iron and carbon, it might have been immersed only like 30 to 40 years
Still it looks quite porous to me!

Only suggestion. Not Gospel.

Lard cans could be flattened and used for various things.
And as water cans and more were recycled often.
There were likely other cans /buckets with similar handles. And of course handles varied from a plain bale set in to a button hole type to get a few fingers in them handles.
The not welded joint on yours reduced odds of it being a high end webbing buckle or something. Not that cheaper ones didn't happen.
Not being welded keeps it away from horse harness use too.

Damn, I think you are right! Actually you are. I didn't even think of these handles!
He did went through the effort of ripping 1 of the 6 or 7 such cans that are still intact ( some a little smashed ) and are 3 or 4 yards away....
So the handle must have fallen off. That's why it was 1 or 2 inches immersed only.
So I am thinking this person most likely marked the spot where he himself thought there was an interesting signal.

The only thing then I have to accept that about 60 years ago or even only 45 yeats, they did use to produce such cans with such strong handles...
Of course 45 years is much more distant time than 25 yeats ago when handles were not so strong any more...

By the way, have you detected and subsequently investigated any Spot that by all appearances seemed to be positioned in 45 degree direction from 2 different ( sets ) of markers? Say about 8 feet away.
So far I investigated maybe 2 such but there was just a fist-size bluish greenish rock pretty much by itself about 16 innches down.
But my method wasn't quite developed yet...
The most common situation here around my area is when the craze with the detectors must have started in the 1960s and also later, hunters marked hundreds of spots ( oftentimes with limestone stones as heavy as 80 lbs + ) i did encounter and dug at least 4 or 5 such and the result ( most often the markers was only 2 to 5 feet away ) was always several very small and very glossy minerals like 1 Oz heavy each. After their removal the signal either stayed or became weakened.
- As a result i resolved Not to check any epicenters whose main marker was only 2 to 5 feet away.
Our colleagues, back then it became apparent, massively engaged in putting temporary BIG markers But Never came back to examine them by digging. Probably found more intriguing places to scan soon after.....
- unless it really looks quite immersed ( the stones) and Really not put there in last 50 or 60 years.
- Let me clarify, I made sure that none of those situations were the result of some powerful underground emanations that were simply reinforced and/ or guided by those same markers....
Indeed it turned out most of these markers were the hunter's their own markers .
So afterwards i started seeking only older and more secluded areas.
