TIME TO START CLEANING.

In the 20's, few inches of snow last night and this morning.

What to do?

Put a 3rd coat of naval jel on a lock I dug this summer. Used crocas cloth and brasso to clean up the buckle that was dug this fall.

It is only early Dec.; not going to be an easy looking at the detector all winter.

Nice job! carefull cleaning those old relics too much though, then they wont even look dug

It cleaned up real nice Sherm,,, You can definitely see a lot more of the details...
Any advice for a rookie?
Should you clean old buckles?
Are they like coins, better left un-cleaned, or does it just depend?...
I have several old brass buckles in about the same condition, would it be better to clean all the crud off of them, or just leave them the way they are? I myself will probably never sell them, if they're even worth anything, but I will be handing them down to one of my nephews someday...
