Tiny gold, trinkets & clad

Hello Metal Detectorists!

It's been a while since I posted anything as I've only been finding clad. This morning I had to stop by the Doctor's office and give them a little of my blood (normally the oil companies have been taking my blood). As I was pretty close to the city I thought I'd hit a couple spots before going home. My map book showed a park that I had not been to as it was off the beaten path. Located in the middle of several sub-divisions it was a bit hard to get to, but I thought it might be worthwhile. I was pleasantly surprised at its size! Several hours later I left the park with 12 quarters, 14 dimes, 6 nickels and 26 pennies as well as two rings, a black pendant, a sponge bob pendant, a band pendant, a penguin thing and a small heart. The small school I hit only yielded 2 quarters, 4 dimes, 5 nickels, 16 pennies and a tiny 14K earring. Only $6.27 total for the 3 1/2 hour hunt.

Coins - 8-20.webp
Coins - 8-20a.webp

On the 15th I hit a few parks and schools in a few neighboring cities netting $10.96, 3 little cars and the following trinkets.

Coins - 8-15-08.webp
Coins - 8-15-08a.webp

Here is an interesting coin...A Ronald Reagan Commemorative coin which I thought was a silver dollar when I dug it up...unfortunately its only worth about $2.00.

Happy hunting everyone!

Good hunin'.....

Thanks Keith, I always appreciate your comments. I think I will start checking the schools & parks off on the map book so I can easily see if there are some that I've missed.

Nice haul, Bob! Looks like a lot of digging. Great trinkets, too. Glad to know you are getting out.

Wish we'd get some rain soon to soften the ground up.

HH

Thanks Anne. I've been staying out of the grass because the dirt crumbles and you can't replace a nice plug. Have you been finding much?

It's just you RJ, I check all the dates before I throw them in the can...than I check them again when I'm rolling them.

I've yet to find a matchbox car that wasn't missing it's wheels and or smashed and bent.

HH

Thanks BandB, these cars were all found in the sand...two of them at a volleyball court & the other one in one of those sandbox things they have in the tot lots.

It looks silver to me but I couldn't find any markings. The back of the medal is dimpled like it is on costume jewelry stuff. The necklace really looks like real silver though.

Re: Tiny gold, trinkets & clad

I could be wrong..and it SURE wouldn't be the first time :P but it looks like this one I found this summer...it's marked silver on one of the little links...

Nana :)

It kinda looks like the same kind, but mine don't have any mark on it. There are two links that appear to be red in color...like a different metal underneath. I scraped the link and the pendant & they seem to be silver colored underneath too. I'll just throw it in with my gold stuff & when I take it to the jeweler to sell I'll ask. Thanks

Re: Tiny gold, trinkets & clad

My My My, Bob ya been a busy dude! your alot tougher than I am as I can hardly get a diggin tool into the ground around here right now, I have even given up on some good signals because the ground was too hard to dig any further so to dig all that in one outing I am presenting you with the human Backhoe award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work my friend!
