A sterling silver "infinity" ring that was just beyond the bottom of a slide in a tot lot... It was a little out of round when I found it, but straightened up well. It is marked "MO .925" and the kicker is....drum roll please....the five stones passed the diamond test on my tester!:headbang: (I read and re-read the instructions, calibrated it, and did several tests!)

This is from a tot lot that I know other detectorists are hitting occasionally, so it was just my turn. And of course, it read a strong 78 VDI, same as most uncorroded Lincoln cents...

Thanks for peeking, everyone have a great weekend and go dig stuff up! Sub 8-)

Kind of what I was expecting . But oh well a diamond ring is almost as good :laughing7: Very nice

Pretty Ring! Congratz!

Moissanite is a manmade stone that looks like diamond. Its significance is that it tests as 'diamond' on diamond testers. Therefore, if you have a standard diamond tester, you will also need a Moissanite tester

Awesome! Happy dance time! Silver and the real deal- diamonds! Congrats!

Nice save,, which machine were you using??
78 seems a little low for silver on the AT PRO

ATW, I have found, after digging sterling rings weighing in at 1.1 grams to 17 grams this year, that the thinner, smaller ones hit the VDI in the mid to high 70's, and the thicker ones hit the VDI from 80's to 90's! Sub 8-)

Great suggestion TH, I will take this one to our jeweler for a confirmation test. Sub8-)

Congrats on the silver and diamonds, great save. I was also hoping to see Buzz :icon_scratch:.

I have seen real diamonds in sterling many times.

On base metal watches... on and on...
Heck a brooch I had once was brass with a small real ruby.

Pays to check em.
