While I was using the coin counter machine at one of the dump banks, it ate about $1.53 from my total. A very cool banker walked over and offered help, to no avail I was still short but I played it cool and said its fine. Then I pushed it and asked him if I can check tray box for the missing halves.

He opened the machine and replaced some HEAVY filled coin bags and to my surprise he removed a whole bunch of coins that got magnetized to a long magnet bar inside the machine. He said:"You can have them if you want." with a nice smile. What a COOL dude!! I thanked him and offered him donuts next time I go.

I got:

$6 Canadians, 0.22 euros, 0.16 cents, .06 pounds, 4.5 Chinese RMB, a 1942, 1965, 1984 Canadian nickels. (No pictures on these as they're at work but available if anyone wants to see
) To my surprise none of them are silver. The nickels dont stick to a magnet as they are made of Nickel (1962, 1984) and Copper(1942), very weird.

1971 Netherland 0.25, 0.16 1950 German pfennig, AND ..... 50 STEEL pennies!

If you can get banks that will let you regularly clear the magnet and buy bags, you can pick up on collection dumps by the amount of steel pennies on the magnet. If a lot of them show up within a short time period, it is time to buy the bag!
