Howdy everyone, thanks again for all your well wishes, I'm steadily coming along... Steve has been trying to get me out the house all week but I havnt bothered going anywhere, I guess I was falling into a depression of sorts.
Well Steve showed up this morning and said a new Doctor at the hospital he works at has an old estate thats a few hundred acres and has a War of 1812 fort on his property... and he got us permission to go detect it, and he wanted me to go with him to check the area out and take pics... well this area turned out to be awsome... he kept teasing me how's your neck and shoulder feeling now?? lol
You know how hurt I am when you see these pics I just couldnt hold the detector yet to detect these spots I was drooling!! but its getting close, well the day turned out even better than expected we met a person while taking pics who's family owns even better places to detect.. Steve that silver tounged Devil did it again.. in 5 min. we had permission to detect these spots in the future we will hit them hard... One is Danial Boones uncles old homestead only the stone fireplace is left standing another is the site of an old church been around since the 1830's, one spot is a log cabin where they used to hide confederate soldiers during the Civil War...man theres so much history and stories we were told from these spots, it was the best thing for me today.. I'm dying to hit these places to detect, Steve knew he would get me fired up again...WOW...I cant wait to post the finds from these spots soon!!! hh all jd

Oh, you lucky dogs, finding and getting permission to hunt sites like that. I wish there was something like that around here. Take it easy and get healed up. You will be pulling treasures from those spots in no time. And definitely keep us jealous commoners informed.

I really wish you wouldn't post pics like this as I have to keep replacing my keyboard after shorting out over my drooling and slobber...lol Man that is one sweet spot and paaalllleasse post all pics regardless of what it is. You just can't find that kind of history out here in Washington.

As a certified tenderfoot, I will carry the equipment, provide the hamburgers, grill and drinks, buy all the batteries and offer my 2 detectors for use if I could tag along. from the sounds of it I am not too far away I live near Greenview. heck I'll even taxi everyone door to door. I am still looking to meet others who would be willing to offer me an apprenticeship. What a great find and you haven't even got started.

glad to hear you're gettin' better. If carrying weight hinders you, try using a dolly/2 wheeler, preferably one with inflatable rubber tires. Use tie straps to attach a 5 gallon bucket to it. So you can put yer finds in it and pull it along with you instead of carrying it. I use this when I rock hunt and it really helps. Stay away from the solid wheels on the dolly because they sink into the ground when the load gets heavy and they're usually skinnier than the air tires. Hope this helps. Sorry it took so long to respond guys... my internet and phone have been down almost 2 1/2 straight weeks now.. they just got turned on a few min. ago... I have about an hours worth of detecting in the last week or so I have been going at it slowly, I find i keep dropping things and stuff like that the feeling in my arm and hand is coming back slowly.. I want to thank all of you for your cards well wishes and messages.. hopefully we get to one of those spots this weekend maybe?? hh all jd
