flintchsr - I don't believe that's a scallorn. Scallorn points are arrowheads and the piece you found I don't believe is an arrowheads, it's larger and probably predates them. I also believe the point you have is a first stage or largely unresharpened point which is part of the reason why it's hard to type - it's not a typical example. One suggestion would be to consider a shorter and narrower version of the same point and see if you can assign that visual image to an identified point type. I'd focus on a ~middle archaic time frame through I have no data to support that. I don't believe it's Mississippian and it doesn't fit with most Woodland types (Hopewell, Adena, others). I don't think it's an early piece, not supporting evidence, just doesn't look early. It may be that it doesn't fit a standard point type, which is a more common scenario than some people realize.
