I made a return hunt to that old home stead location to see if i could come up
w/ some more coins found a few, i looked at one of the shed and noticed that the door was
open so i decided too peek in and saw where some old wooden boxes had been knocked down
papers were laying all over the place so i went in to see what had been going on, I called the
Land owner and told him about the breakin so he asked me if there was a mess in side, I told him
there were just papers laying on the ground he asked me to pick them up which was no problem
then secure up the building, I told him shure i'd be glad to do it for him so i cleaned up & I
decided to metal detect in there and see by chance if i could come up w/ anything. Right off the
bat i got a hit w/ the GTI 1500 and it rang up as being a penny @ 2" deep dated 1910 so i continuded
to clean up and hunt in there and found a few other oldies from the insides to me i think my best
find today was 2 funny looking buttons of some kind don't really know what they are but i'd guess
buttons of some kinds from what ive seen here on the forum, there funny looking.

Re: More finds from todays hunt

Nice coins & Buttons, XT!

I don't ever find stuff that old.

I'll make it a point to remember when I find a coin older than the newest one you posted!

Something tells me you are due to find many more there.

That is a real haul Dave, even if that coin is not a barber dime...lol

Show us the back side of the V nickle...please.

hey you had a good day

Yes, its a OLD Navy Button. In the early days of the U.S. Navy, the buttons were modeled after those of Napoleons with the Eagle looking to the Left. However, later on this was revised to follow the old Heraldic order and thus they were changed to face towards the right which is also the "Sword" hand in the Heraldic.

very nice coins and buttons indeed! I love that eagle button! I wonder what kind of button that is... :icon_scratch:

For the record, it doesnt match up with Alberts NA-113. It must be a civilian fashion button because its not in any of the button books. Sorry old post.
