Today’s finds xx

Today was a beautiful sunny day, himself decided he wanted to go back to the same fields… the crop has failed so wanted to take advantage of the extra time.

First off a tiny Roman Fibula brooch, it is just half an inch big! Then a couple of nice buckles, then a curved patterned piece, then a fancy brooch, a boys scouts badge, then 2 lead seals, some pieces with holes! A gorgeous little button, thimble a corset holes, bit of a spur and bell metal plate piece, ring, musket ball and end of a pen knife blade, 2 crusty romans and 6 side piece (?) buttons, and a big Roman coin and finally my hammered… it’s in a bad way and completely rubbed smooth! Xx

Poor knife blade had a rather rough go of it for it's young age. Not that anything has been gaining much...But someone appears to have leaned on it rather hard.

Ancient stuff there still poking through to not be forgotten.
Right up to recent.

Wonder how old the scout that dropped the pin is today? If still aging...Might tremble involuntarily to hold it again if still able to. Or not..

So the big Roman coin has The Chi-Rho symbol and was used by the Roman Emperor Constantine 1 ( r. 306–337 AD) as part of a Military standard (vexillum) Constantine's standard was known as the Labarum. The symbol is XP 😆 kinda cools as found with my XP Deus 😎 xx
