Today's Finds

Back to the old stomping grounds and working a houseplace that i think existed 1890ish to probably 1925. Did some more probing and hit some brick. Working in an area about 30 ft from the yellow jacket nest. (Got rid of them today with my dad's secret recipe). After chopping through some roots and a few minutes of digging i started hitting some broken brick and ceremic pcs.

Ran across a few bottles but nothing that will help me retire early, lol. Found backside to a doll's head that reads 1894 AM 2DEP

One is a Coney Island Pharmacy, an Eddy & Eddy Chemists St. Louis, a Williams & Carleton Druggists Hatford,Conn, and a Crystal Pepsin Carl L. Jensen Philadelphia. All my finds today are really small but pretty common I'm sure. The narrow thin flat bottle i've been wondering about. Would that be a perfume? Also, one of these is a shoe polish i believe. I'm not done with the pit yet and i hope to get more out of. (An early straight side coke would be a site for sore eyes). Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

dam ground nesting sumbiches got me the other day too.....nice bottles by the way....I need to get my boots back on. Had a huge blow on the coast yesterday, seaweed is gone and so are the leaves...time to start hunting.

boy, i just don't know... a perfume would have a pretty secure stopper I am thinking....pretty ornate.....anything at all on the bottom....age? detail?

Bass, I believe it is definitly a perfume. We find a couple just about every year. I've included a couple of pic's of 2 we found a couple of weeks ago. The embossed ones are few and far between up here. Keep that shovel dirty !

Yo bass,

I agree, on it being a scent and a real nice one. Do me a flavor, will ya, put it down on something dark, wood, matte paper, an old organdy gown, and use natural light, please. I think you might be pleased by the look. That little late victorian gem will pop… I bet.

Threatening rain here today so the pictures may be a little darker than I'd like. Also, there are some stubborn inside stains that i've got to work on getting out. With that said, the piece does definitely pop on a dark background
