Today's finds

[JVA5th]

Returned to an orchard that had a house on it and a big barn at one time and searched around for about 5 hours before I exhausted myself from carrying scrap cast iron around I found. I was beginning to find for whatever reason the finds were not limited to the area where the house and barn once where it seems for whatever reason things got spread all throughout the property. I found lots of trash, scrap cast iron, 3 wheat pennies(found all over the property) x2 1941 and a 1945. Found a tiny belt buckle that still works, a few what is it's, key, a watch that is completely destroyed, bullets, a old silver plated spoon, and what's left of a golf club. I was so determined to find something good but didn't find much. I had found a 1907 silver dime there on a prior search and finding the wheat pennies for me tells me there has to be more somewhere but I had no luck. I suppose was better than finding nothing.

That looks like the stuff I bring home, except I pile up the heavy stuff and then forget to bring it home!

Hi John. More cool finds, and I only just saw the spoon.

It's ?Grace Silver Plate?, which was a trademark of Oneida. That?s their ?Royal York? pattern, also known as ?Oakleigh?, introduced in 1937.

I find one of two pieces from that set everytime I go out to that spot for some reason. Have like 8 pieces of silverware now I found throughout that area. They are often not close to each other at all so makes it a bit strange but all the finds are spread out all over away from the original barn and homesite

Lol I'm just nice and take the big rusty crap out for this particular land owner. Nice guy so helps him out to get that junk out of the ground.

I just had to mention finding a head off a golf club didn't I! I still didn't find one at a golf course. Found one today at a rest stop off a freeway. I don't know if that's a weirder spot to find one or not!

Randomly found this one in the ground away from the site of the old home. To me looks like a kids set or something. I have a feeling the home once was there from like 1905ish to 1950is the latest wheat pennies I find go from 1921-1951. Then found a 1907 silver dime and a few things with patent dates in the very start of the 1900s. Just is a difficult site because everything is so spread out.
