Today's finds
Went to the local park. One new quater, & 2 pennies. Went to an old school yard, found a old skyhawk toy air plane. The body in one hole, the wings in another holes a half a foot away. A couple of more penys and a dime. Decided to go to an old lot right behind the oldest church building in my town (1860's) Went to where the back yard was and found this cool copper "Ayer's Cathartic Pills" printer's block, then in the little 20 x 20 front yard. On one side of the side walk ,nothing, on the other side of the side walk that led to what used to be the front door of the now non-existant house, I started getting some good solid tones. The first ring was a 1966 quater, the next few rings were all clad rosies. I got another signal where part of the walk was missing. Couldn't tell what it was for sure, but figured it was another rosie due to the size. Just fixing to load up, and decided to check near this big tree out between the side walk and the road. Garrett GTA 500 was saying $1, 2" deep. I 've seen those signals too many times ,when it was just a large piece of scrap. But I dug anyway. The item appeared to be a silve dollar in size and shape and I was all set to jump up and do the "happy happy-joy joy dance" until I saw some slots in it.. Got home, washed everything off.
I am thrilled. Been detecting for 12 years now and this it THE FIRST silver anything I have ever found. I think it is because of poor research on my part, but I am still learning how to do proper research.
The dollar size item turned out to be a "good luck" token. The front says "Casey Elliott & Anne Roberts around the edge, a star in the middle with a horseshoe and "Good Luck" in the middle. The back side has a small American flag in the middle of the star.

Still got to do the dance tho,
because as I was cleaning each coin, I checked the one that I had found under where the side walk was and to my amazment, IT WAS A 1877 SEATED DIME !!!!! I am thrilled.
