Todays Penny find question....

I found a broken jar today at about 5" - 6" deep. I was in the parking lot of a park with 4.80 cents in its belly, (Small baby food jar) Nothing older than this penny 67'

It is larger than a regular memorial because it appears smashed or stamped around the edge.

Any ideas on why or explanations?
