After the excitement of finding the Roman yesterday we headed back to the location and spent the day gridding around the area…
Lead…. Big ugly lead… pic of the bits I found, himself had about the same which I let him keep 😆.

Along the way musket balls, lead thingy’s couple of buttons, and a heavy bronze ring thing, another gorgeous horse shoe himself kindly dug for me as it was about 18 inches down 😍 His best find of the day … a gorgeous piece of silver… and mine… oh yeh, that will be the Quarter of another silver Roman coin 😆

just after lunch the heavens opened and we were pelted with hail stones, so called it a day… but not before this beautiful rainbow appeared above us… I say it every day, this is the most awesome hobby, am so grateful to be in the most beautiful countryside finding little bits of history and seeing stunning sights like this. xx

Congrats! Another Siliqua, now the colour it should be! There must be bronze as well. Swing slowly and listen to the little signals these coins give.
thank you! Such pretty coins!! And yes those signals are tiny!!! Its a hard area… as not far from an electric fence! I think we will wait now and go back when they move the cattle in for winter xx

Big, big Congrats blossum! Your Roman silver is fantastic. I give you bonus points for all of your excellent pictures too!
What do you use for a camera?
Ahh x thank you!! I just use my iPhone, I use the magnifying app for the little stuff tho! It’s nearly as difficult taking post worthy pics, as it is finding the treasure 😅 xx

Congratulations on yet another Roman Silver 👏
How far apart were they?
Those fences are a bloody pain.
Beautiful rainbow.

After the excitement of finding the Roman yesterday we headed back to the location and spent the day gridding around the area…
Lead…. Big ugly lead… pic of the bits I found, himself had about the same which I let him keep 😆.

Along the way musket balls, lead thingy’s couple of buttons, and a heavy bronze ring thing, another gorgeous horse shoe himself kindly dug for me as it was about 18 inches down 😍 His best find of the day … a gorgeous piece of silver… and mine… oh yeh, that will be the Quarter of another silver Roman coin 😆

just after lunch the heavens opened and we were pelted with hail stones, so called it a day… but not before this beautiful rainbow appeared above us… I say it every day, this is the most awesome hobby, am so grateful to be in the most beautiful countryside finding little bits of history and seeing stunning sights like this. xx

That roman cleaned up well! Wait, that's your second roman?! Beautiful!
England is a fine and pleasant land!

I'd say that's a great day! Congrats on some nice finds.

Obv: [FL CL IVLIA]NVS P P AVG - Rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right.
Rev: [VOTIS] V [MU]LTIS [X]X - 4 Lines within Wreath.
Mint: LVG (Lyons, France)

The Bronze Loop is interesting, it clearly must be some kind of Horse Harness Loop but doesn't match any I've seen, it might be a Bronze Age version, but they have no knob. If it were Iron Age or Roman, it should have another attachment loop.:icon_scratch:
