After a week of sunshine, today was a great day to be out hunting for treasure, still chilly but much nicer digging.

Lovely Elizabeth 1st hammered, a 1861 Victoria, and 5 others haven’t I’d yet. Couple of pot legs, spindle whorls, a chunky disc with pattern on one side (?) buckle, watch winder, strap end (?) bits of crotal bells and a big lump with a hole in! Musket ball and pot mends (?) buttons and a Jetton and half a crusty coin!

Another awesome day, so lucky to be allowed to wander around these fields! Xx

(The hammered is an Elizabeth 1st Halfgroat made between 1582-1600) xx
You can get a tighter date than this with the 'Tun' mint mark - 1591-95.
Not taking anything away from the find but this period of half groat with the 2 pellets behind bust are the most common detector find, with Ed I, London mint being a close 2nd.

I have a small library of books & studying them will pay off.
Thats how Cru'dad got good with Roman coins when he had little interest in History (before he started detecting with me)

Nice finds and beautiful flowers! I wish folks around here were not so possessive with their field dirt! 😄
