Todd Lipe's Finds While Hunting With Carolina Tom

Todd Lipe asked me to post his finds for him. This is just another way for him to rub in the fact that he spanked me on Saturday, but that's OK because he took me to a killer place, and I found some treasure too.

Here are his Saturday finds. First spot, first 10 minutes, he digs an IHC watch fob (best find of the weekend IMO). There was a little piece of chain in the hole with it too. You should have seen the frown on my face when he pulled it out. It even looks like a little pocket watch... dang man!

After lunch we proceeded to his "honey hole" spot. A few wheaties showed up, then I dug a '34 Washington and was feeling good about myself until... he swooped in and dug a '41 Washington, followed shortly thereafter by a '39 Merc. The frown returned.

I was born in the South, and my people are a resilient and resourceful group of survivors. We have an innate ability to overcome obstacles that would baffle ordinary "city folk". I routinely snatch victory from the jaws of defeat... with a roll of duct tape. I even got a duct tape merit badge when I was in the cub scouts.

As Todd Lipe indicated, I have new boots. I tried to glue the soles on but it did not work. After the second hunt in taped up boots, I gave up and went and bought a new pair. You should have seen the look on the guys face at the shoe store when I pulled out my knife and cut the boot off of my foot. Priceless.

If I can get Tom to take me to some schools I might find enough clad to buy me some shoes before it gets much colder,my feet are startin to get cold
