Hello All. I dug a site that I have been to many time before for these finds. It is about 2 acres in size and I am told that there was a sawmill and three 1920's homes on it at one time. Did not find a lot but enough to keep me going back.

Still researching the token but cannot find any info on it. It comes from Colon, GA about 100 miles north, a small town in the Okefenokee Swamp.

Thanks for the view and Good Luck. C9

Congratulations on a nice token, always fun to find.

Nice token! Sherman Lincoln Campbell, 1867-1940, was a railroad tie contractor ca. 1920. He probably had a movable sawmill operation that was large enough to justify a "company store" or commissary where these tokens were used. He lived in Colon, but the tie camps were elsewhere in the area. Would you be willing to post your pics on tokencatalog.com? Or give permission to have me do it?

Hello IDtokens. Wow nice ID!! I could not find anything related to this token. How did you find the info on it?

I Googled Sherman Lincoln Campbell and see that he is buried in Osteen, FL which is not far from where I found the token.

I will try to post it on the tokencatalog site.

Thanks for the reply and great ID.

Looks like the site is still producing. The token is cool, and I like to dig them more than some coins.

You are correct LD. The site still has some potential and yes tokens are always welcome finds. Thanks for the reply. C9
