I read an article yesterday about Thompson. He’s been in jail for contempt for 10yrs. A judge dismissed his contempt charge. He still has to serve 2 more yrs for a previous criminal charge. The maximum sentence for contempt is supposed to be 18 mos. He’s also been charged $1000/day which has added up to $3.5 mil. First, this is a clear violation of the 8th amendment. Cruel and unusual punishment. At this point I think a federal lawsuit would end it. I’m surprised the judge didn’t give him credit for time served on the 2 year sentence. I’m not sure if he threw out the fine or not. Surely the statute of limitations has run out. This wasn’t a murder. I’m sure if he gets out he will be in danger from several sides. The life of a pirate!🤣 Time will tell if he’s a successful pirate or not.

TP, having wasted ten years of his life (so far...) in prison, isn't worth (IMO) whatever amount TT still has sequested away or might win in a future lawsuit. Yes, he's a genius for his retrieval innovations and success, but a loser in a bigger picture.

My friend talked in person with him last month....he is in pretty bad health. That's all I was told.
