Took my 3 oldest boys

My oldest boys and I went and walked a field today for my oldest sons birthday . He found a little piece not sure what and my second oldest boy found his first point those are the first two pics . But I think they were playing more than looking "boys will b boys" haha and so I found some great stuff as well the rest are mine I'm glad they were playing !!! I have no idea what the last piece is it has been hit by the plow

Awesome stuff, looks like it could have been a plummet maybe? Love the full point with the heavy patina, wish I had made it out this weekend. I did get the chance to walk a plowed field for the first time recently though. Saw tons of great material and some banged up flint but didn't bring anything home. Hoping to make some more farming friends in the future! Hope the kids had a great time and a good birthday for the one. Love seeing younger generations get the fever!

Several large tools, preforms, lots of scrapers, unfinished point (?), broken pieces, and fossils. Gonna try to post a few tonight. Oh, my husband found the most awesome thumbnail scraper! The work on it is exceptional!

Nice finds Painterx, sure wish my son has some interest in artifacts. Looks like you found a plummet to me, anybody ever heard a good explanation on what plummets were for?

Thanks guys it's funny it's all about timing I have went to the same spots and found nothing then go on a different day and have a good one . With this rain we are getting it should b ready again I can't wait !!!!

I've read and read and still don't know what a plummet was used for exactly sinkers , weights shoot idk haha

Its cool how you can go and walk a field and find nothing then go back after a good rain and they are just laying rite on top waiting for you to pick them up. If the weather stays good till tomorrow hopefully that is how it will be for me.

Great family artifact saves. Nice material on the flint pieces. Second to last looks like it was used as a hammer stone. Thanks for the pics!
