Very interesting on the teeth. We do not show any human remains that may indicate graves. Please take no offense it is just the rules. Many of us stumble upon wash outs from time to time. We have this rule out of respect across the forum.
Please continue to post and look forward to you sharing.
Thank you for understanding.
TnMtns.
Oh thanks idk , yeah tooth was found in new gravel bar , there has been so many flooding storms here in pgh that creek banks are stripped clean feet up the sides, and tons and tons of newly exposed areas to pick ,
I see no tooth.
Do see a cervid jawbone.
And at least some cervids do have some teeth with three roots. Messed with one that kept falling out of a deer skull a while back.
Not a fan of reading about chewing hides to soften. Too many other options. Besides ,then you would have wet leather that needs worked before drying and non uniformity in spots.
A properly brain tanned hide can be softened quite well.
Odd timers rolled hides up and back during evenings. Twisting and untwisting can soften as well. As can breaking them over the tip of a fleshing beam.
