Good morning folks, just wanted to give a shout to yall and let you know where i am at. Southeast Texas area and looking for pointers and tips, possibly a buddy to hunt with. I am very new to the hobby of metal detecting and have just last week purchased a whites spectrum XLT from a pawn shop. After borrowing one from work I was hooked in a hurry and have since seen multiple videos and read lots of reviews on detectors and responsabilities to the hobby and also research ideas and tips. If there are any active members from around my area that may want to chew my ear just give me a shout. Thanks everyone and glad to be here.

P.S. I am in bad need of some excellent programs for my XLT for coin shooting.

Also check your historical markers, they will give you an idea as far as there being civil war activity in your area. Get permission from land owners and you may be in like Flint.
