Hey, guys, "Bone Dry Detecting" got out to a new site today. The landowner told PACO that an 1800s mill was located on his land, so we decided to give it a try. Since the year is winding down, we are just scouting out new locations.
Since it was snowing and about 30 degrees, we were kind of hindered. We did place baggies around our meters, but the weather wouldn't allow us to find the coppas. It just wasn't meant to be today. We only detected for about an hour...damn the weather!
Oh well, even the pros have bad days.
Before we left for the day, the landowner showed us a relic that he had dug out of the nearby woods. I am thinking it is a trade axe. I don't really know, so I need some help. I told the owner I would help identify it for him.
Is it a trade axe? If so, how much could it be worth?

Here's a picture for you out of my revolutionary war artifact book. Fourth row, top looks closest to me. Although several in the picture look similar.
