Been doing some research on the objects from one of my sites, been looking at trade points today. Id like to get info from other sources than google so I’d love to hear any wisdom from the members of this site. if you have any knowledge of trade points feel free to share

... I need you to look up the best story about them I have found.
Eugene Ware, The Indian wars of 1864
Chapter 27 The Stagedrivers Arrow..
I don’t haven’t figured out how to link up but it’s great reading..

I think you also recommended jeb Taylor’s book, spent a while trying to find a copy for sale that was less than 800$… that’s a hard book to come by now apparently, maybe I’ll have better luck with this one, thanks for the recommendation

The four larger points are obviously made of iron but I was wondering if the small one might be made of brass (non-magnetic). With the patina it has it is hard to tell.

All five points appear to be NA-made.

Yes the little one is brass, after googling yesterday I suspected they were na made, the only one I’m not sure trade vs na is the top right it’s thicker and has more of an oval cross section, also noticed the eastern metal points seem to favor small triangles and as you go west you see the larger ones. Not necessarily looking for just info on mine I’m just trying to get a good understanding of trade points as a whole, haven’t got to your suggestion yet fat, had to go out on a hunt this morning instead

Still too rich for my blood at the moment but I’ll keep an eye out, sounded like they aren’t being printed currently, maybe they will make another run sometime
