They almost look like homemade dog proof traps , but i have never seen them made that way , and the piping could be the drag.

Might be a gopher trap, at best. Actually, I've never seen a
trap like those, assuming they are, indeed, traps.

Some better (close up) pics might help. I've never seen traps that look like that either. But, the parts I see could be the spring, trigger and dog. Just can't figure out the rest.

Never looked at or used a trap anywhere near related.
Gripping surface of a trap needs to only grip ,not damage. The flat stock at springs looks too sharp.
