trashcan silver dollar & small cache!!

I was changing out trash in one of the open space fishing lakes I maintain at work today, when I lifted the lid on the trashcan I saw a plastic jar half full of coins on top. Unfortunatly They turned out to be coins from all over, Mexico, Australia, Barbados, Europe, Germany, Portugal, Phillipines, France. But the beautiful 1886 Morgan dollar stuck out like a sore thumb in the bunch. I accidently let out a victory holler in the parking lot, people fishing nearby must have thought I was nuts. Anyway I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would throw these away, especially the silver dollar, you can see the condition, all I did was rinse it in water.

uh look at the home safe / change machine cover ---clearly a crooks handiwork --- that spot was / is his "safe spot" a remote place where he feels safe to "dump" the evidence of his worlk ---serial killers often reuse the same "body" dump / burial area as well over and over (force of habit), its part of the criminal mind set ---a place where they feel "safe" to get rid of "evidence" at is very important to a crook.---real seasoned pro type crooks seldom reuse their spots, since once the dump spots are discovered they can be staked out.

well if you found it full of purses and wallets -=-- its clear you've found a thiefs "dump spot" a remote place that he uses to get rid of the" evidence" of his crimes if theres that many to fill a can hes no one time crook but a seasoned pro --- so be on the look out as he might attempt to mug / rob from you -- guys like that rob homes when no ones there and break into vechiles-- snatch purses from umlocked cars or bust windows to get to em -- and stick up folks for their purse / wallets .
I find stuff like this all the time!!!

Re: trashcan silver dollar & small cache!!

Not everyone gets to find outlaw caches without waiting 100+ years after they're cached. Congrats.

Here's an idea. You could start taking out only half of what this guy stashes in that can. That way, he'll keep stashing, and you'll keep getting half. ;D

Make sure the obverse and reverse are properly oriented; if they aren't, you know it's a fake.
It's no fake, it's the real deal.

I agree. That Morgan dollar is the "real deal"!

Nice!
