Detector(s) used

Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I was introduced to metal detecting by my little brother when I returned to Phoenix, after being honorably discharged from the Army (after three-years of service in 1976). I had some PTSD issues, and he took me out to the goldfields hunting for gold nuggets with a C & C Bobcat metal detector. I found my first nugget on the second day (10.7-grams), and I was hooked! This year marks 49-years of metal detecting in 39-states; four countries. I have found just about everything – gold nuggets; silver nuggets; gold rings; silver rings; A 1978 one‑ounce Gold Krugerrand; a diamond ring; more clad than I can count or remember and silver coins out the wazoo! One of my most noteworthy discoveries was a cache containing 27 Morgan silver dollars. I almost had a heart attack! Recovering silver coins in Arizona goldfields is also pretty cool, because they are usually in pristine condition (couple of examples pictured). Show some of your favorite silver finds!

I remember when you found them. I was the first to comment when you posted that amazing haul. Im still dreaming of a cache find like yours Terry.

Yea if your goal was to make every metal detectorist in a thousand mile radius jealous, mission accomplished. Something like that about give me a heart attack if I found it.

Was this that haul that was found in the glass mason jar? I remember seeing a video of this guy finding a jar of morgan dollars in a jar.
It's possible that it's the same find, here's a link to when he found them, there's a video and yes found in a glass jar.

Amazing Terry! 👍

I remember when you posted those previously Terry, and it's a post I would never get tired of seeing ! That just had to be breathtaking. Since I've already had one heart attack (and it had nothing to do with metal detecting finds) I try to keep calm and detect on these days ! If I had found that cache, I may not be typing right now !

Strange, I had the CABG (open heart surgery) just seven-months after that find. Lucky indeed!

Terry EXPECT a phone call. I would LOVE to hear you tell about your silver dollar finds. My best silver dollar cache was 8 silver dollars in a plastic bag and there was also 3 TWO dollar bills in with the silver dollars . They was in a old falling down house in the floor joist

A dream for many, a reality for few ... lol. The potential is always there and your discoveries fuel the passion for the hobby. Great work! Fantastic find(s)!! Congratz!

Great finds Terry! I never found any cache of silver. Found some pennies when I was a kid in our backyard. The boys I was with and I dug a bunch of them up and headed to the local neighborhood store and spent them on candy and pop! Wish I had a few of them now. They were mostly Indian heads and early Lincoln wheat backs.
