I go to Europe yearly. love traveling there with the history everywhere!! I understand how you feel at not having the excal along!!

I was in Barcelona Spain a couple weeks ago. I found lots of euros and a small silver neckless charm.I ran in to three local guys detecting the beaches. They have the same problem we have. It's slim pickings until the tourist and locals hit the beaches and start to deposit. Over in europe they detect for income money not for the hobby as we do . The beaches are full of beer caps and tabs. Take a picture of nice gold or diamond ring and keep it on you phone if any police gives you a hassle show them the ring picture and tell them your wife or girl friend lost it and you are looking for it. The early morning and late afternoon are best. The beaches get packed during the day. Take a voltage converter to charge your batterys. They have 220 v outlets. Last year I burnt up one of my Excal battery pods. Plan on detecting in the water. The locals don't have any water detectors from what I've seen. Good luck Joe
