Baldingboy and I were having a discussion about hunts and finds and we think that the majority of us detectorists make average finds but we keep hoping for the big one. So if that's the case here is what I really think is fun to find. This is treasure to me. But silver gold and jewelry are nice (at least I think gold is I haven't found any yet.)

I like the head. Anything found is a treasure to me.

.....Good head!

Gotta love the head!!!!!!!!!!

Neat finds. Looks like the kind of stuff I find.

Looks better than what I've found! Lol, seriously - what's been lost and I find, well that's Treasure to me and I would love to find that lil head - kinda looks like one of the Caesuras to me, and no I wasn't offended by your original post heading - got my attention and a giggle! Best of luck,

My barometer of what is and is not treasure has changed slightly since I started swinging the Whites. If you like it...it's treasure. I truly believe the hunt and excitement makes an otherwise uncelebrated piece more special sometimes. I figure I can always throw it away when I get better treasure. ::)

I like finding the oddball stuff too. Without a doubt, that head is super cool. A lot of detail. I wonder what it is off of? (besides the body :D )
Great job,
MM

Wacky Head! Bet it got a laugh out of you while you were out. :D

Actually given my past hunts and history (see FROM THE GRAVE post) I just about messed myself. I looked up at Baldingboy who was with me and said "What is it with me and dead people stuff" or something similar and for about a milisecond considered chucking the head across the field and running away screaming like a madman.

Then I thought, nope, this looks like a pope, at least I hope, maybe I'm just a dope, for digging on the slope, and then taking a grope, at the head of the pope, then I couldn't cope, started to mope as I was taking a lope, across the slope, to get soap and ellope from the slope this will drive me to tope(look it up). Hope I don't end up on a rope.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :-[

Nice find there. It's hard telling who the figurehead might be. Could have been broke off of any old statue and might not even have anything to do with the cemetary. It's certainly an interesting find to add to your detecting finds collection!
