Tried my hand at roll hunting and got skunked

Went all over town to try to find some halves and finally one bank had 5 rolls. I took them and set off in my truck going around town doing errands and could not stnad it any longer. I stopped and unrolled one of them and nothing. Took the next one and same thing. Got to the next one and noticed someone had slit it and then taped it up skunked on that one too...Finally took another one and saw it was taped up also and also the last one. And the bummer about it was the little lady was taping one up when I walked up to the teller. The other banks I checked said a guy came in the day before and got all of the halves. So after this first experience I think I will just see what you guys put up here on the thread and have fun reading about it. I do not think I will be trying this anymore, Tim

Persistence is key when it comes to CRH. I wouldn't give up yet.........at least keep going until you find something.

If you can give up after 5 rolls, then this is definitely not the hobby for you.

Maybe give it a try again when you find some extra time, or try to work it into a day of errands so you don't feel like trying to find halves is all your whole day is about.

ya, i agree, not the hobby for you if u cant stand 5 skunk rolls, considering some on this forum have had as many as 2,500 skunk rolls in a row! so, this is definitely not the hobby for you. but, if you can, keep trying, dont get discouraged, and you WILL be rewarded.

Well disgusted at the fact that the only rolls I found had been already cut and peeped into. Most of the banks I stopped at said that they do not order any halves anymore. I guess I can try and see what a box of them would do for me one day. I will think about it some more. ALso I read where you guys buy bags. What is a bag? Is it off of the coin machines that people cash in or what? Tim
