Hello fellow T'Netters,
Trying to id the coin below that my hunting buddy found while detecting a local beach. Coin rang on his Sovereign as if its made of silver, is toned black and was caked (we very lightly removed the crustiness that would easily come off, not daring to do too much).

Don't see any "copy" or "facsimile", etc stamped on it but haven't had any luck with id either. What you do all think? Real/Fake? If Real, what could it be?

Thank you all in advance! TwoYewts

Yeah, we were hoping. Figuring with the ocean waters churning due to the hurricanes/storms and being that this target was a couple of scoops deep, the right kind of audible on the detector and coloring...oh well, made for a good couple of days hunting the web looking for a match.

:)
