Negative, no silhouette like some of the regimental steins.Nice.
Any silhouette in the bottom when you raise the lid out of the way and hold the bottom up to the light for a peek?
Thanks. That's kind of what I was looking for. So he was a Sergeant of some type in the Imperial Army. Looks like he joined shortly after the unification in 1871. It's not the usual regimental stein. Perhaps a private purchase by a family member.I have found the maker to be Theresienthal Glassworks with a cut star and thumbprint design. Found another here... Theresienthal [4] Glass beer steins; Prunts, Pewter Mounted, Verses, Jugenstil. « Steve On Steins" St. Fr. F.W. (From) the second platoon w/ Leutnant E. Mayer for the 20 year Service Jubilee 1 Bat(tallion) 1 C(opmagny)"
"St. Fr F.W." I dont know, yet strongly thing "F.W." means Feldwebel = Seargeant. Perhaps Staff Seargeant or something. Guy should have be little of NCO rank advanced after 20 years.
Greets Namxat
Thanks Capt.The " 0.5 Li " is the size/volume = half liter.
